Kawarau Bridge Bungy
In November 1988, Bungy pioneers AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch jumped into the world spotlight by launching the world’s first commercially operated Bungy Jumping Site, off the historic Kawarau Bridge. With over 27 years of operating experience the Kawarau Bridge Bungy is now complimented by the purpose built Bungy Centre and is renowned as one of the most exhilarating things to do in Queenstown.
This is the ‘world home of Bungy’, birthplace of the adventurous spirit that has shaped Queenstown’s character and one of the most famous attractions in New Zealand.
Stylishly nestled into the rock face above the magnificent Kawarau Gorge, the Kawarau Bungy Centre enables visitors to choose their own thrill level and get as much excitement as they can handle – whether that means leaping into the middle of the action or just sipping drinks and savouring the atmosphere from the specially constructed viewing platform.
Situated just 20 minutes from the adventure capital of the world, this Queenstown New Zealand site has something for everyone.
